Beach Tote/The real story...

Last week, I posted about a beach bag I made.

So here is the rest of the story.... When I cut the netting out for this originally, I was going to make it the size of a Chubby Tote 18 x 15.  When I made the top, I cut my 4 pieces 15 x 7.  Didn't realize what I did till trying to put the top on the bag....Ended up cutting more netting to fit the smaller top.   Luckily my local quilt shop had Boardwalk Vintage fabric, so I was able to make the Chubby Tote size for a special birthday gift.

I cut fabric the same width as the top x 7 inches.  Assembled, and slipped it over the netted bag.  I did interface the fabric (all 4 pieces) with SF101.  Turned the bottom of the fabric under and top stitched.  The netting makes for a sturdy bag that stands up by itself.

The handles are thrifted belts that I cut.
The smaller one has this cute blue stitching that matches the fabric.

I really love how shiny these ones are.

Now comes the fun part, searching for perfect little gifts to stuff it!

With my daughter's help, found the cutest sarong for starters.
