During this pandemic, I have been doing a lot of reading. I really love a book cover. The pretty fabrics add delight when picking up my current read, and I especially love having the ribbon to mark my spot.
I've been going through all my fabrics, and finding so many pretty pieces! ...planning to gift some of these.
This size fits an average paperback book.
Materials needed: fabric and SF101 (which will be ironed to the wrong side of fabric) 7 3/4" x 15.5"
If I'm going to add embroidery, I do so before ironing the SF101 on.
I have numerous embroideries for book covers or books pillows.
Step 1: fold the short sided under 1/4 inch and just straight stitch.
Step 2: fold each side back towards the center 2.5".
Step 3: Trim corners, and turn the book cover right sides out.
I use the stitched line to press under the remaining raw edges.
Stitch down to secure. Add a colorful ribbon to the center, top. |
